DAVID HALLBERG, MARCELO GOMES, JOSE MANUEL
CARRENO, DENIS MATVIENKO, GUILLAUME COTE, DESMOND
RICHARDSON AND NIKOLAY TSISKARIDZE PERFORM
PREMIERES AND CLASSIC WORKS IN SPECIAL PROGRAM AT
NEW YORK CITY CENTER,
FEBRUARY 19-21

DANCES BY CHRISTOPHER WHEELDON, ROLAND PETIT,
FREDERICK ASHTON, NACHO DUATO, BORIS EIFMAN AND
LEONID JACOBSON

The critically-acclaimed Kings of the Dance are back onstage!
After a triumphant 10-city Russian tour in 2007-2008 that included sold-out
performances in Moscow and St. Petersburg, Ardani Artists presents a new
program that will include David Hallberg (USA), Jose Manuel Carreño (Cuba),
Joaquin De Luz (Spain), Nikolay Tsiskaridze (Russia), Marcelo Gomes (Brazil),
Denis Matvienko (Ukraine), and Guillaume Cote (Canada) with special guest
appearance of Desmond Richardson. The three-act performance will include
choreography by Frederick Ashton, Leonid Jacobson, Nacho Duato, Roland Petit,
David Fernandez, Adam Hougland, Boris Eifman, and Christopher Wheeldon.

New York City Center is last stop in the four-week world tour in Russia,
Ukraine, Estonia, and Latvia. And that's only part of the spectacular story of
"Kings of the Dance," which will be presented at New York City Center, February
19-21.

Each of the artists will perform a solo piece. Premieres are Boris Eifman's
"Fallen angel" will be performed by Nikolay Tsiskaridze, Adam Hougland's "Small
Steps" will be performed by Marcelo Gomes, David Fernandez's "Five Variations
on Theme" will be performed by Joaquin De Luz. Part of the program pays
homage to the dance history highlighted masterpieces such as Sir Frederick
Ashton's "Dance of the Blessed Spirits" for Sir Anthony Dowell (will perform by
David Hallberg), Leonid Jacobson's "Vestris" for Mikhail Baryshnikov (will perform
by Denis Matvienko).

Christopher Wheeldon's ballet "FOR 4", set to music by Franz Schubert,
was originally created for Kings of the Dance in 2006. This year it will be
performed in three different casts.

In addition to the premieres, the artists will alternate in performances of
Roland Petit's classic, "Morel et Saint-Loup from ballet "Proust ou les
Intermittances du Coeur" (Variation and Pas-De-Deux), and Nacho Duato's
"Remanso" created in 1997 for American Ballet Theatre. Desmond Richardson
was in original cast, and will be performed in New York.

Prior to its City Center engagement, Kings of the Dance will receive its
North-American premiere at the Performing Arts Center of Los Angeles County,
Ahmanson Theater, February 16-17.

The evening curtain at New York City Center, Friday and Saturday, is at
8pm and there is a 3pm matinee on Sunday. Ticket prices are $100, $75, $50,
$35 and can be purchased at the City Center Box Office, through CITYTIX at 212-
581-1212 or online at www.nycitycenter.org. City Center is located on 55th Street
between 6th and 7th Avenues.

Sergei Danilian is Creative Director and Producer for latest program of Kings of
the Dance.
